Costa Rican Modular Cabin

Úbáli Tropical Living, a Costa Rican architectural firm has designed this modular cabin called “Kabëk” which utilizes eco-friendly materials and layouts combat hotel tourism’s carbon footprint. Predominantly made of industrial zinc, an incredibly durable material with it’s own self-healing hydroxyl carbonate protective layer. Also used for the construction were gypsum and Densglass, forming an ecologically sound structure with an inclined-roof that can be tucked into the side of a mountain and withstand the elements. Úbáli, which means chameleon in Bribri, has joined Costa Rica’s pledge to become a carbon-neutral country by 2021.
